Manyata Dutt truly believes in Raj Kapoor’s popular line ‘The show must go on’, from Mera Naam Joker. What else could explain Mrs Dutt’s pulling out all stops to make sure her hubby’s production house churns out quality cinema even in his absence.
The latest we hear is that the doting wife of the convicted actor Sanjay Dutt – who’s serving a jail sentence in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case – has signed on the ace choreographer-director Prabhu Deva to direct a film for Sanjay Dutt Productions. The company’s next project, Big B, starring superstar Amitabh Bachchan, has begun its shoot schedule. Next in line will be the new film to be directed by Prabhu Deva – all details are being kept under wraps for this one, but judging by PD’s record, it should be a fun caper. And then there is another comedy titled Hasmukh Phas Gaya.
Wethinks the doting wife that Manyata is, she’s trying to leave no stone unturned to take his dearest hubby’s passion for cinema far ahead. And when he comes home again, he will just have to say, ‘Biwi ho to aisi!’
