In Soumik Sen’s Gulaab Gang, Madhuri Dixit-Nene will portray a character inspired by Sampat Lal Devi, who plays an instrumental role in fighting for women’s rights in Uttar Pradesh. Since the movie needs to have the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa judge doing some action scenes for the first time ever in her career, she has been training hard for it, not just to get into character mentally, but also physically.
The Pukar star worked on her action sequences under the guidance of Shaolin Kung fu master Shifu Kanishka aka Kanishka Sharma. The master – possibly the only Indian to have trained at the famous Shaolin Temple – has guided B-town stalwarts like Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Siddharth, Zayed Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, John Abraham and Boman Irani in the past.
