Movies show trips, but in Imtiaz Ali’s next – Highway, the trips themselves have been made into short films. Presented by Sajid Nadiadwala and starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda, the movie navigates through six states of northern India and depicts the backdrop of the diverse provinces alongside.
In this episode, of Highway Diaries titled Sambhar Salt Pan, Alia is seen shooting for the film in a salt factory in Sambhar (Rajasthan) along with other actors of the film. Born and brought up in the mega-city Mumbai, the world of Sambhar, where anything and everything has more than a pinch of salt was a revelation for the young star. She says that the movie took her to amazing places and all of those, she probably might not have had seen otherwise. According to her, Sambhar—the salt factory, was the most beautiful and the weirdest experience. During the shoot, Alia celebrated her birthday. She says that it was Sambhar, where she actually started feeling like her character – Veera.
