Apparently, King Khan has started acquiring rights of the films he starred in and has been shelling out big bucks to his film’ producers profusely
Besides being B-town’s influential superstar, Shahrukh Khan is also known to be a suave businessman over the years. His apt calculations have brought him and his production house Red Chillies Entertainment Private Limited good fortune; the recent exception being his big budget sci-fi flick film, Ra.One! If a tabloid report is to be believed, the Baadshah has come up with a plan which will guarantee him more money (read royalty) in times to come.
The report suggests that the Chennai Express star wants to buy the rights of most of the films he has worked in. Doing so, he has apparently purchased the rights of the television series Idiot (1982) and love story Chaahat (1996) where he played the lead role and has been speaking to producers. He has already bought the rights of the Mahesh Bhatt directed Chaahat at a whopping price!
Considering the latest trend of remakes, filmmakers often purchase rights of classic Bollywood films at an absorbitant price. Wethinks this is probably why Shahrukh wants to acquire most of his films so that he could make more money in future from filmmakers. Hmmm… smart move SRK!
