John Abraham’s upcoming film, claiming it depicts the LTTE in bad light

Shoojit Sircar’s Madras Café, an upcoming political thriller set against the backdrop of Sri Lankan Civil War of the ‘90s is in trouble again. Few Tamil activist outfits claim that the film depicts the Liberation Tigers Of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in a bad light. Earlier, they had demanded a special screening before its release but the filmmakers hadn’t give in to their demands back then…
We hear that there was a huge crowd protesting outside a venue in Chennai at the trailer launch of Madras Café on August 5. Apparently, the situation got so bad that they had to call the police to handle the protesting members of the organisation called Naam Thamizhar.
Despite all the protests and trouble, the film’s lead, John Abraham, who is also producing the film, is confident that the Tamil audience will love the film. He says, “Our film is unbiased. It is not pro or anti anyone. Shoojit (Sircar, director) has told the story in the most credible and responsible manner.” Hmmm… We will wait and watch, John!
