Gods Must Be Crazy to be remade in Hindi
After following the trend of films from down South being remade in Hindi and vice versa, it seems like it is time that B-town gave other films a chance! Filmmaker M J Ramanan is doing just that after he decided to come up with a remake of the 1980 South African blockbuster Gods Must Be Crazy in Hindi.
Written and directed by Jamie Uys, the original film is a documentary style comedy about a group of aboriginal people in South Africa whose lives change after a soft drink bottle thrown from an aircraft that falls in their area. However, the remake will have a different storyline, and instead of the soft drink bottle, it will be Dawood Ibrahim’s cellphone.
In the remake, Paresh Rawal will be seen playing one of the lead characters along with Jacqueline Fernandes. If sources are to be believed, Remo D’Souza too is being consulted for one of the roles. Well, this sounds like one quirky movie, though we hope it’s not only a piece of news and we hear more on the film’s release date! So keep watching this space for more on the remake.
