Sanjay Dutt, who recently had a thorough health check in Pune’s Yerwada jail has some more bad news to deal with – the Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the curative petition filed by the actor’s lawyers asking for reconsideration of his 1993 blasts conviction.
Dutt breathed a sigh of relief in 2007 when he was cleared of conspiracy charges; however, he was found guilty of illegal possession of arms, for which he was awarded a jail term of six years, some of which he had already served at the time. Even before his surrender in May this year, Sanjay filed a review petition – that was also dismissed. With the dismissal of the last option he had, of a curative petition, the actor will have to serve his full term in jail.
