India is geared up to witness the first ever sports film festival which has been organized by the Tiger Paw Films Festival in a collaboration with All Sports Los Angeles Film Festival. This film festival will be organized in Delhi from 27th August to 29th August. According to the reports, the selection process of the sports films is in a process currently.
Sundeep Mishra, the organizer of the festival said that presently, the jury members ( the names has not been disclosed yet) are sitting and selecting the films. There are seven categories included such as super short film, short film, super short documentary, short documentary, news feature and feature documentary. The jury members will select five films for each category and the last date for the entry which has been decided by the organizers is 30th June. The announcement of the selected films will be done in the first week of August, Mishra added further.
The opening ceremony of the film festival will be held on 27th August and the award ceremony will be organized on the last day i.e. 29th August. The time duration of the film festival will be 2pm to 9pm. According to the reports, two films from Kolkata 'Hit Claudius Hit' made by Joydeep Mukherjee and 'The Warrior Prince' by Mitali Ghosh has been selected as the official entries for the film festival. 'The Warrior Prince' is a documentary cum feature film based on the ex Indian cricketer Captain Bengal Tiger i.e. Saurav Ganguly.
