The star of The Munna Bhai starts his sentence today.
''Munna Bhai'' Sanjay Dutt today surrendered before the TADA court to begin serving his sentence of three and a half years for possession of explosives in Mumbai 1993. The star arrived at the court in a white kurta and pants with a big tilak on his forehead.
He left his Bandra residence in the afternoon along with his wife Manyata Dutt. First we stopped at the Siddhivinayak temple to seek blessings after which they went to court. There was some jostling as people from the media, fans and the police almost did fall to the actor and Sanjay reached inside the courtroom after a long struggle of 20 minutes. Inside the courtroom, Dutt was identified and the appropriate paperwork began.
After the formalities are completed, Sanjay will be taken to Arthur Road Jail and then to Yerawada Jail in Pune where his sentence remaining. Apparently, Sanjay will have some comforts in prison, including homemade food, mattress, pillows and medication for a month.
In addition, Arthur Road jail, a few days ago, received an anonymous letter handwritten in Hindi saying that Dutt would be harmed if it were to be in the same prison.
