Healing Through Comics

My Monsters is an online program for queer, disabled youth, created and led by Vincy Lim.

This year, we ran two 5-week sessions, using comic- and zine-making to help participants heal from trauma.

Vincy shares, "For some [participants], this program was the first time they felt a part of a community, and I hope the experience will be a stepping stone for them to find care throughout their lives.

Book Delivery Fun 📚🌟

Seeing their work in print is always a cause for celebration! Here's a class at Driftwood this spring.
A group of children holding books in front of a blue wall, one seated on the floor.
A boy and a girl looking at a book
Person holding two colorful booklets titled "The Internet" and "Fried Chicken God's Domain."
To close, here's a poem to brighten your summer day.

As always, thank you for being a part of our journey!

"My Visit to the Old Cabin"
By Raida, Grade 6

I saw a very old cabin.
Around the cabin there were beautiful flowers.
Birds were tripping on the trees.
There were chipmunks
and they were eating chestnuts
behind the cabin.
There was a beautiful lake.
The place was so relaxing and peaceful.
I was curious to go inside,
but the door was locked.

I love watching Bollywood movies.

If I could travel anywhere, I would want to go to South Korea, so I could meet BTS in person.
